PRESENTATION OF THE ARTIST

I am a professional trained artist who believes in beauty as one of the main purposes of art. Through creation I search not only visual prettiness, but also to transmit the beauty of the delicate and hidden emotions of human being. Through a mix of invention and observation from nature, I create suggestive scenes where human figure, landscape and space have an emotional content, pictures where the spectator may find subtle stories that enhance imagination. All these elements are many times the tools I use to create metaphors that invite to the spectators to enter into a dreams world where they can find their own answers.

Currently the digital technique is my favorite medium, since allows me to use at the same time the technical resources from drawing and painting. In a fluid dialogue of lines, flat planes and modulated colors, the shapes appear with forcefulness o delicateness, depending on what I want to express.

I want to highlight the material value of digital works, since the printed images are not copies of a previous original, but rather the materialization of the work itself. This condition equates the digital technique to engraving. As an artist, I like to make print runs of few copies in order to offer the collector something that is of value to both the collector and the artist: originality and exclusivity.

 

STUDIES

Rosa Peris is PhD Doctor in Fine Arts (Polytechnic University of Valencia-UPV 2015). She focused her thesis in the expressivity of movement in animation. She did part of her PhD at the Academy of Media Arts Cologne (KHM), at Germany, where she studied animation with the artist Raimund Krumme (2011).

 

TRAJECTORY

Rosa Peris (Valencia, Spain, 1984) is draughtswoman, filmmaker and animation producer. She has got several awards, among others the Fontevraud Abbey Award in the Project Competition at the Festival Internacional de Cinema d’Animation d’Annecy, that gave her the Residency of Animation Scriptwriting at the Royal Abbey of Fontevraud (France, 2012).

His film “Tututú” (2019) was an official candidate for the 2022 Goya Awards from the Spanish Academy of
Cinematographic Arts and Sciences; and her last film as co-producer “Citerea” (2021) was nominated for the 2022 Berlanga Awards of the Valencian Audiovisual Academy. Also, Her films has been awarded and screened in several film festivals, among others: Hiroshima International Animation Festival, AniFest-Czech Republic, Monstra-Lisbon Animated Film Festival, ALCINE-Alcalá de Henares Film Festival, Zinebi-International Fest of Documentary and Short Film of Bilbao, AniMazSpot (California) and Acquedolci Independent Film Festival.

His latest drawing exhibition, Places and dreams: a journey with the imagination (Jarafuel, August 2022), a joint exhibition with Mercedes Peris, received more than 400 visitors in 15 days.

ROSA PERIS

PRESENTACIÓN DE LA ARTISTA

 Soy un artista profesional que cree en la belleza como uno de los principales propósitos del arte. A través de la creación busco no solo la belleza visual, sino también transmitir la belleza de las delicadas y ocultas emociones del ser humano. A través de una mezcla de invención y observación de la naturaleza, creo escenas sugerentes donde la figura humana, el paisaje y el espacio tienen un contenido emocional, imágenes donde el espectador puede encontrar historias sutiles que estimulan la imaginación. Todos estos elementos son muchas veces las herramientas que utilizo para crear metáforas que invitan a los espectadores a adentrarse en un mundo de sueños donde pueden encontrar sus propias respuestas.

Actualmente la técnica digital es mi medio favorito, ya que me permite utilizar al mismo tiempo los recursos técnicos del dibujo y de la pintura. En un fluido diálogo de líneas, planos y colores modulados, las formas aparecen con contundencia o delicadeza, según lo que se quiera expresar.

Quiero destacar el valor material de las obras digitales, ya que las imágenes impresas no son copias de un original previo, sino que se trata de la materialización de la obra misma. Esta condición equipara la técnica digital al grabado. Como artista, gusto de hacer tiradas de pocos ejemplares para poder ofrecer al coleccionista algo que es un valor tanto para éste como para el artista: originalidad y exclusividad.

 

ESTUDIOS

 Rosa Peris es Doctora en Bellas Artes por la Universidad Politécnica de Valencia (UPV, 2015). Su tesis se centra en la expresividad del movimiento en animación. Realizó parte de sus estudios en la Academy of Media Arts Cologne (KHM), en Alemania, donde estudió animación con el artista Raimund Krumme (2011).

 

TRAYECTORIA

Rosa Peris (Valencia, España, 1984) es dibujante, directora de animación y productora. Ha obtenido diversos premios por su trabajo, entre otros, el premio Abadía de Fontevraud en la competición de proyectos del Festival Internacional de Cinema d’Animation d’Annecy, con el cual obtuvo la residencia de escritura de guión de la Abadía Real de Fontevraud (Francia, 2012).

Su película “Tututú” (2019) fue candidato oficial a los Premios Goya 2022 de la Academia de las Artes y las Ciencias Cinematográficas de España; y su última película como coproductora “Citerea” (2021) fue nominada a los Premios Berlanga 2022 de la Academia Audiovisual Valenciana. Además, sus películas han sido premiadas y proyectadas en diversos festivales, entre otros Hiroshima International Animation Festival, AniFest-Czech Republic, Monstra-Lisbon Animated Film Festival, ALCINE-Alcalá de Henares Film Festival, Zinebi-Festival Internacional de Cine Documental y Cortometraje de Bilbao, AniMazSpot (California) y Acquedolci Independent Film Festival. 

 Su última exposición de dibujo, Lugares y sueños: un viaje con la imaginación (Jarafuel, agosto 2022), exposición conjunta con Mercedes Peris, recibió más de 400 visitantes en 15 días.
